Audiotapes and Course Book
On February 1, 2007, new Unified Court Rules governing advertising by New York lawyers went into effect. These extremely important Rules will have an impact on virtually every New York attorney, and will also govern attorneys outside of New York who solicit within the state. In addition, there have been several significant developments on this topic including the issuance of Proposed Ethical Considerations and the Alexander v. Cahill decision, in which the U.S. District Court Northern District of New York issued a TRO restraining the enforcement of several sections of the new Advertising Rules.
The course book and audiotapes of this 2.5-hour (3 NY Ethics Credits) September 20, 2007 presentation by Patrick M. Connors, Professor of Law at Albany Law School, give you a practical and useful explanation of both the new Advertising Rules and these important developments. Professor Connors also provides useful tips on how to comply, warnings of traps and much more.
